The Inerrancy of Scripture and the Elegant Inseparability of the Trinity

Source: Timothy Paul Jones Christian Apologetics web page

“The Father doesn’t do anything that the Son and the Holy Spirit don’t do. Neither does the Son do anything the Father and Holy Spirit don’t also do. Neither does the Holy Spirit do anything that the Father and Son don’t do,” wrote Augustine of Hippo in a letter to Nebridius (11). Reading this, I was reminded of how I once heard Sinclair Ferguson explain what it means to trust the inerrancy of Scripture. According to Dr. Ferguson, to affirm inerrancy is simply to affirm that “the Father does not lie to His Son, the Son does not lie to the Spirit, the Spirit does not lie to the apostles and the prophets, and the apostles and the prophets do not lie to us.”
